About Our Community

A Russian Orthodox parish rooted in faith, tradition, and love

Христос Воскресе — Christ is Risen

The Russian-speaking community in Austin has grown dramatically in recent years, now numbering hundreds of families from different countries. The need for services in Church Slavonic has increased, especially among immigrants who do not speak English. However, there were no churches with a Russian-speaking priest in the city.

In 2023, a group of Orthodox activists began to gather to pray for the establishment of such a church. The Russian Cultural Center provided a space for the community. The Lord soon heard their prayers: in October 2023, by decree of Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America, a new parish was opened in honor of Blessed St. Ksenia of St. Petersburg. Fr. Daniil Kolesnikov, who came to Austin from Russia with his family, was appointed rector of the new parish.

From the first days of its existence, the church received spiritual intercession from its patron St. Ksenia. With God's help, the community raised funds for essential church goods and a temporary place for worship. On February 6, 2024, the first patronal feast in honor of St. Ksenia was held with the participation of many believers and clergy.

Our church is open to all. Regular services are held in Church Slavonic and English on Saturdays at 5:00 PM and Sundays at 9:00 AM, as well as on church holidays. We invite everyone to visit us at 11601 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78750 .

Our plans include building a real Orthodox church on our own land. We believe that with God's help and together with you, we can make our dream come true!

Our Patron Saint

Our parish is dedicated to Blessed Ksenia of St. Petersburg (c. 1730–1803), a fool-for-Christ and one of the most beloved saints of the Russian Orthodox Church. After the sudden death of her husband, she renounced all earthly comforts, gave away her possessions, and spent her life in prayer and acts of mercy.

St. Ksenia is venerated as a great intercessor and wonderworker. Countless miracles have been reported at her grave in St. Petersburg, and she was glorified (canonized) by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1988.
